Description
This item was taken from the IEEE Conference ' Simulating 3D electron-optical systems of microwave vacuum devices with shadow grids ' A technique for simulating electron-optical systems comprising grids, collectors and magnetic systems is discussed. An operative 2D code was initially used to calculate basic parameters, following which the effects of asymmetries were investigated using 3D codes. The results are presented of simulating electron-optical systems to shape the high-perveance (P/sub /spl mu// /spl sim/ 1.3 /spl mu/A/V/sup 3/2/) electron stream in a channel and a two-stage collector.
