Description
This item was taken from the IEEE Conference ' Broadband multibeam pulse klystrons of moderate output power with a special control electrode ' In this paper the authors describe the design of a multibeam klystron with a double-gap output resonator and a three-coupled-resonator output system. A 15-beam electron gun was used. As a result an industrial sample of a klystron with a special control electrode operating at a voltage of no more than 3.8 kV was developed. The output pulse power was more than 25 kW and average power more than 1.5 kW. The band of amplification constituted not less than 2% at an amplification more than 40 dB. The klystron is packaged by a SmCo magnet system and is liquid cooled. Its mass is less than 8 kg.
