Description
This item was taken from the IEEE Periodical ' 12 channels 250 km "WDM+EDFA" optical fiber communication system ' We introduce an optical WDM communication system that uses 3 erbium doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs) with 12 channels and a total transmission length of 250 km. Eight of these 12 channels have a bit rate of 140 Mb/s each with a CMI code pattern, and the other 4 channels have a bit rate of 622 Mb/s each with an NRZ code pattern. This system works well with a low bit error rate. In China, this WDM system has the largest number of channels. The system setup and measured results are also shown.
