Transducers with narrow radiation beam

By: Szalewski, M.; Kielczynski, P.; Pajewski, W.;

1995 / IEEE / 0-7803-2940-6

Description

This item was taken from the IEEE Periodical ' Transducers with narrow radiation beam ' The FEM analysis of vibrations and radiation of the piezoelectric ring emanating acoustic energy through an elastic waveguide into the ambient medium of low acoustic impedance (e.g. air, water) is performed. The analysis proved that by using a cylindrical waveguide of finite dimensions a narrow acoustic beam is created. The distribution of an acoustic field generated by the structure ring-cylinder was measured using an acoustic microphone in the near-zone and the far-zone respectively.
