This item was taken from the IEEE Periodical ' Hydroelectric Power in New England ' Dependency on oil, under existing conditions, as a fuel source for electric generation has caused concern in New England. Because of relative plenty the use of water as an alternative is being investigated. Large installations are not making much progress but restoration of abandoned or restored small dams are having a resurgence.
