New York, NY, August 4, 2011. - AcademicPub™, the higher education unit of SharedBook Inc., today announced the addition of five traditional publishers - Princeton University Press; CRC Press, a publishing division of Taylor & Francis; Multilingual Matters/Channel View Publications; Strategic Studies Quarterly; and Greenleaf Publishing - to its content Library, bringing to 35 the total number of partners included in the service's cross-publisher platform.

This most recent addition of new content has also spurred AcademicPub to dramatically upgrade its search capability, as new faculty users begin to utilize the application that now boasts more than half a million units of high-quality content. The announcements were made by Caroline Vanderlip, CEO, SharedBook Inc.

"The size of our AcademicPub Library has more than quadrupled since our mid-April launch, and such growth certainly qualifies as a good problem to have," said Vanderlip. "With that explosion in breadth and depth of content, we decided to accelerate our development work in the search arena, making it easier than ever for faculty members to find relevant and timely content."

According to Vanderlip, the addition of Princeton University Press - a venerable U.S. academic publisher; Taylor & Francis - a globally recognized specialty publisher; and the three other publishing partners are continuing validation of the AcademicPub model, which brings together the world's leading content providers on a common, easy-to-use platform. The higher education instructor utilizing AcademicPub now has access to content that has been cleared for classroom use from 35 leading academic publishers, his or her own work content, voluntary submissions of content by other instructors, and content from the World Wide Web.

Princeton University Press, founded in 1905 when Woodrow Wilson served as the university president, joins the AcademicPub Library as a publisher of trade and scholarly books in humanities, social sciences and science. Its fundamental mission is the dissemination of knowledge, served by publishing scholarship of the highest quality on all levels.

CRC PRESS, founded more than a century ago, is a division of Taylor & Francis and a leading publisher of professional reference books, research monographs and textbooks covering specialty areas in all of Science and Technology.

"Bringing content from high-quality academic publishers on to one common, easy-to-use platform is the goal of AcademicPub," said Vanderlip. "And being able to search on all this content in one place, at lightning-fast speeds, with filtering tools as sophisticated as anything on the market, supports our mandate to make the creation of custom books as easy as possible."
