Description
This item from - IEEE Conference - 2014 IEEE 5th International Symposium on Power Electronics for Distributed Generation Systems (PEDG) - Synchronous Machines of large power plants are responsible for setting the system frequency. This frequency allows the coordination and operation of the various Power Systems' (PS) elements. However, due to the expected development of Distributed Generation a Microgrid (MG) may lack Synchronous Generation losing the capability of isolated operation. This paper proposes a control strategy for Converter-Coupled Distributed Generation to ensure stable operation of isolated MG even in the absence of Synchronous Generation.
