Development of 3D Virtual Multi-pyramid as a Mathematic Game for Elementary and Middle Schools' Students

This item was taken from the IEEE Conference ' Development of 3D Virtual Multi-pyramid as a Mathematic Game for Elementary and Middle Schools' Students ' Virtual multi-pyramid game is developed by using virtual reality technology based on the algorism of real multi-pyramid building box game. Three basic types as operating primitives in this game providing for users, such as three-ball, four-ball in L type and four-ball in U type. By using these three primitives, several plane geometries, such as triangle and parallelogram, and solid geometries, such as pyramid and corner-off tetrahedron, can be assembled. Virtual digital computer game of multi-pyramid proposed in this paper can be used as a media to learn mathematic-related topics, such as ��construction of points, lines and faces, �� ��construction of angles, �� ��number series in the same difference or ratio, �� ��construction of multi-faces, �� ��simple faces and solids, �� and ��object translation and rotation.�� It can benefit students�� mathematic reasoning ability as well as logic thinking ability.
