This item was taken from the IEEE Conference ' Teaching software engineering with Global Understanding ' This paper reports the experiences and lessons learned of teaching a global course on software engineering to students in Africa and United States. The paper describes the course content, distributed software development project, the global teaching environment, assessment criteria, and results. Following the summary of the experiences and lessons learned from teaching the global course, we also discuss how to improve the teaching effectiveness of future global courses.
