Statistical characterization of the medium wave field strength spatial variability in urban environments using the Generalized Lee Method

This item was taken from the IEEE Conference ' Statistical characterization of the medium wave field strength spatial variability in urban environments using the Generalized Lee Method ' This paper present an analysis and validation of the Generalized Lee Method in order to statistically characterize the spatial variability of the field strength in the medium wave band and urban environments. To do this, the main parameter values needed for applying the mentioned method are provided. The statistical characterization of both, the two components forming the field strength signal, the long and short-term variability are studied and finally a validation of this method for this particular case of application is analyzed. The validation has been carried out by means of comparing the theoretical values obtained using the Generalized Lee Method and empirical characterization method defined in previous works. Those mentioned values will be useful for future network planning of new emerging broadcasting digital services in medium wave band.
