Why Process-Orientation is Scarce: An Empirical Study of Process-oriented Information Systems in the Automotive Industry
2006 / IEEE / 0-7695-2558-X
This item was taken from the IEEE Conference ' Why Process-Orientation is Scarce: An Empirical Study of Process-oriented Information Systems in the Automotive Industry ' Several studies have indicated that existing IS (IS) often fail to provide adequate business process support. To systematically identify the reasons for this drawback, we conducted a case study in the automotive domain and a survey among 79 IT practitioners. This paper presents the findings of this empirical research and explains why mere ""processorientation"" (regarding business process support) is scarce.
