Description

This item was taken from the IEEE Conference ' A New Modeling Approach for Embedded Passives Exploiting State Space Formulation ' In this paper, we present a new approach to model the high-frequency effects of embedded passive devices in multilayer printed circuits based on state space equations and neural network techniques. As passives are often connected to nonlinear devices, frequency and time domain models are required. An accurate and fast electromagnetic (EM) based model, exploiting state space formulation and developed from S-parameters versus physical/geometrical parameters is introduced. It can efficiently represent a passive both in the frequency and time-domain circuit design. Examples of embedded resistor and capacitor in signal integrity of multilayer circuit are presented.
